2020 French harvest

Oct 29, 2020

One month after harvesting, let’s turn the floor to our winemakers !

A GLIMPSE FROM THE LANGUEDOC VERSION

By Loïc – Le Champ des Murailles

“The mildew was present but, working in organic agriculture, we were well prepared. It is a very good vintage in terms of balance, interesting for the entry level and mid-range products.  It will be necessary to slightly accentuate the aging on the premium range in order to seek the toasted side which is not very present in this vintage. Lots of fruits.”

A GLIMPSE FROM THE RHONE VALLEY

By Jean Louis – Cave de Pazac

“2020 vintage is characterized by great precocity and the exceptional duration of the harvests which lasted more than two months. We had an ideal weather for the harvest, great quantities with good taste, aromatic and fruity quality. A nice balance of acidity and degree, but not in the extremes.  We are satisfied, everything should ferment well. A good volume for this vintage To conclude: an ideal harvest!”

A GLIMPSE FROM THE BORDEAUX REGION

By Nicolas – Vignobles Massé

“A mild winter followed by a wet spring and a hot, dry summer characterize the 2020 vintage in Bordeaux.  The very high temperatures just before the harvest allowed us to harvest grapes that were rich in color and very concentrated in tannins. Although in large quantities, the tannins are very fine with a great balance. It is a very contrasting vintage, colorful and powerful on one hand with very intense and fruity notes on the other.”
